| Junior belt system |
Below is a list of the coloured belts that are used within the martial art community. This is used for Junior members only, and senior members wear white belt until they obtain "Sho-Dan" (1st Degree Black belt). Parents are welcome to purchase coloured belts when their child reaches their graded level, though most use the senior format and purchase the coloured belt as a keepsake. The wearing of "Hakama" is earned and not given likely, so not all women may be given permission to wear it. Please note: Although seniors progess up the ranks a grade at a time, Juniors have to earn "stripes" before they move on to their next belt. |
